What a huge privilege to welcome everyone in the 88th SM City in the Philippines!

“Here at SM, we've got it all for you!” I’m pretty sure you’ve heard this famous song lyric and tagline whenever you visit SM Malls. Hearing it in your home city felt like it’s already a dream come true! Officially opened to the public in May 30, this three-floored architecture marvel surprised everyone with its design elements centered towards the province’s cultural, natural and agricultural aspects. The exteriors inspired by the marble stones of the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation in Burgos, the white gold and curvy slopes of ceilings resembling the Ilocos Norte Sand Dunes, garlic-shaped chandeliers plus the inabel (the local textile) patterns which accentuated the mall’s atrium ceiling, these are just some of those that wowed visitors upon entering the mall for the first time. Aside from these, lots of new stores and areas offering entertainment, food, beverage, fashion, wellness, technology and among others made an impact that is finally meeting the needs and wants of the locales. And yes, I have long waited for the SM Department to arrive, a place where I usually shop for my outfits. Yehey!

Speaking of entertainment, it was an incredible opportunity to have hosted SM Cinema’s inauguration. Now what makes this area exhilarating? It’s the presence of their two Director's Club (DC 1 & DC 2) Cinemas. Each of these state-of-the-art movie theaters is equipped with 44-Verona Recliner seats for luxurious comfort, Dolby Atmos Sound with Laser Projection. They also offer Regular Cinemas (C1-C4), each featuring 109 seats with PWD-friendly spots, Dolby Atmos 7.1 Surround Sound and Laser Projection. These features were all introduced during its blessing in May 29 and we were joined by SM Mall representatives and local officials for the ribbon-cutting. After this collaboration with SM Cinema group, Lenovo Philippines also opened its exclusive shop the following day – marking their 44th store in the country! With great energy in emceeing this event in front of our brand executives and media, this good news makes their current and future brand users feel easy in buying Lenovo products directly and for customer service convenience.

The mall opening was truly a big hit not just to the Ilocanos, but also to the delegates of the Palarong Pambansa 2025. As expected, thousands of visitors from various regions flocked to have a firsthand experience especially that this moment also leads to greater economic opportunities and elevate the people's lifestyle and shopping experience.
